Making Cards for the Troops
What an enjoyable day I had yesterday! A large group of women gathered together at a church hall to make a wide variety
of cards to send over to our soldiers so they had cards to send home for : Birthday,s Anniversaries, Mother's day, Father's
day, etc...
Each person made a sample card at home and brought in materials to make 20 more of the same card. Each
card with it's materials were placed on tables(stations). You would go to the first station, make a copy of the sample card,
using the materials for that card, then move to the next station to make another card.
We had water and donuts
and what a great way to meet new friends and talk with old friends. The event was to last for only 2 hours, but we stay much
longer. We all spoke the same "craft" language and had a great time. Some of the women even brought in their teenage
daughters and they even had fun, at least they looked like they did!.
What a great way to volunteer your time for
loved ones overseas. I, personally, felt so accomplished when I left.
Always, Lorraine
